Justin Bieber on Next Album: 'I Just Want to Make Music' (Video)

Sure, he stars in sold-out movies, busts a move on stage, and manages a few laughs now and then, but what Justin Bieber really wants to do is just make music.

It's been a while since the 17-year-old has released any new tunes, and it looks like fans will have to wait a little bit longer to get their Bieber fix. The singer told MTV News that he's taking his time on his next album.

"I want to work a lot with myself," he said. "And [I want to] write a lot myself. I will be working with a lot of other producers and stuff like that, but I'm just writing a lot, writing on tour."

The 'Never Say Never' singer is currently spending his down time on tour writing and recording new songs, but doesn't feel pressured to turn out an album by a certain date.

And if his previous albums and massive 'Justin Bieber: Never Say Never' 3-D movie are any indications of what's to come, we have a feeling the Bieber will do just fine.

But what can fans expect from the teenage star, who has collaborated with everyone from Kanye West and Chris Brown to Rascal Flatts, on his next album?

"I've done a lot on my acoustic guitar, so it's gonna have that vibe," he explained. "I'm not gonna really limit myself. I think music is music, and genre -- I mean, I know there's country music, there's rock music, but my music is different. My voice is not meant for any style. I just want to make music."

Could a collaboration with girlfriend Selena Gomez be in his future? Maybe, the 19-year-old starlet recently revealed.

"Whenever I do songs I kind of do them organically," Gomez said when asked if she plans on collaborating with Bieber any time soon. "So if it happens, it happens."

"Extra" caught up with actress Selena Gomez at the NYC premiere of her new comedy "Monte Carlo," where we asked her about boyfriend Justin Bieber's recent scuffle in front of a Macy's store.

Gomez said she hasn't spoken to Bieber since it happened, but offered, "I'm sure he's fine. Everybody said he's fine."

When asked if she and Justin would ever work together, the Disney Channel star replied, "No, probably not. I'm focusing on myself."

What Gomez really wanted to talk about is her new film, in which she plays a young woman traveling to Europe with her two friends, and mistaken for a British heiress. "I had the best time. This film is kind of a departure for me. It's just a sweet movie and I'm really proud of it."

Is Selena taking care of herself after her recent health scare? "I am. I was low in iron and I was dehydrated, so it was decided that I should incorporate more vegetables and chicken. The stuff your mom wants you to eat."

"Monte Carlo" opens in theaters July 1.

Video! Justin Bieber Attacked in New York

Singer Justin Bieber got a little too close to fans on Thursday -- and was shaken up in a scuffle.

Bieber was making his way to a Macy's store in NYC to promote his new fragrance, when he deviated from the planned route to greet fans outside -- and the crowd surged.

A man, who has now been identified as a plainclothes police officer, jumped the barricade in an attempt to protect the singer, TMZ reports, but Bieber became defensive thinking he was a crazy fan. A member of Bieber's security team immediately grabbed the cop and tried to pull him away.

The police office quickly identified himself -- and ended up citing the security team member who intervened for disorderly conduct.

The 17-year-old Canadian singing sensation was not injured, and continued the event unfazed.

Bieber's rep released a statement Friday, saying, "This was a momentary, well-intentioned misunderstanding that was quickly resolved, and the event went very well."

Justin Bieber dropped by the Ed Sullivan theater to help with David Letterman's Top 10 list on 'Late Show,' considering it was all about him. The topic was Top 10 Little Kown Facts about Justin Bieber, and the Bieb clearly had a blast pokin fun at his image.

We particularly loved the little turn of the head and smile he gave after delivering #7 on the list: "As hard as I've tried, I don't know how to not be adorable."

#5 had a great sight gag as well. After Bieber said, "I'm not really a big fan of Kevin James," the camera cut to James in the green room and he did a great sad sack expression.
